Lawi for the win! Lagat crushes the master 5k world record with a 13:40 at the Carlsbad 5000 !3/29/2015 Took a lot slow motion video of the elites at the 2015 Carlsbad 5000. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eIq-K2T1cQs A very successful LA Marathon for RYP runners this last weekend despite the hot conditions!! Big shout out to Kristin (big PR and Boston Qualifier!), Liliana (first marathon with outstanding 3:48 time!), Dan (a very strong run and stayed out of the Med tent!) and Tom (very successful fund raising and awareness for the Beat ALS Team). Plus Roseann sets a PR in the 10K at the Spirit Run! Run Warriors!
Some great Run Your Potential racing and training at Surf City on Sunday!! 7 PR's and 2 BQ's despite some warm and sunny conditions.
Highlights include... Sabrina ran a 52 sec PR 1:27 and placed 2nd in her AG (podium!) Roseann ran a 1:29 for a PR and 7th AG .. despite GI issues! Kristin had a great race, 1:31, big PR and 7th AG ! Matt L. nabbed a PR with his 1:47 ! James M. ran a 2:04 PR ! Erin ran a 3:32 full, 6th place AG which was a 6 min PR and a BQ ! Amy ran a 3:33 full, 3rd place AG (podium!), a 17 min PR and BQ ! In all 21 RYP'ers getting out there for the training, racing and pacing duty. And some great support from RYP'ers on the course along with family members coming out in big numbers. Fun day and proud of everyone for the dedication and teamwork in this group! and on the subject of recent races, Andria ran a PR at the New Years Hustle 5K on Jan 24!! woot! and the next day was Gio's turn to crank in Texas. He placed 1st AG, 10th overall with a blistering 1:10 at the Austin 3M Half !! getting back into tip top shape! Starting the year off with some very strong RYP racing results! :)
Congrats to Kristin, Marzena, Tim and Amy for great races and big PR's at the Kaiser So Cal Half!! Another big PR for Liliana at the Carlsbad Half!! Stephanie placed 7th F and 1st AG at the Disney Star Wars Half!! and her Dad completed his first Half marathon!! Big Texas shout out to Nagesh for reaching his big goal .. a Boston Qualifying time and PR at the Houston Marathon!! Lots of hard work and dedication paying off! Excellent first of the year training at Run Your Potential. 52 strong and ready to reach new goals in 2015. Happy running!
Last RYP group long run of 2014.. the crew went to Quail hill for some awesome hill training on a cold but bright day.. consistence.. persistence.. comradery with a dash of holiday cheer.. :)
