Great racing at the Harding Hustle 30K last weekend! Greg was flying downhill and getting in great training for St. George Marathon in October. He placed 9th Overall! Sandra was flying too... she placed 3rd Female with a very strong climb and super fast finish. This was definitely a very tough route with 4100' elevation gain and loss. Run Your Potential runners have achieved 78 PR's so far this year!!

At the Anaheim Firecracker 10K - Amber, Karen and Lori represented extremely well by running PR's on a hilly course and they all won 1st Place in their age divisions!! In Ladera, Julie cranked out a strong 10K on a difficult course to PR! 2nd AG and a huge improvement from last year on the same hilly course. In La Palma, Greg ran a really strong race. He missed his PR by only 14 seconds, 2nd AG and 7th OA placement. While many of us have been focusing on recovery and easing back in after the Boston Marathon others have been hot on the racing circuit. Gio won first place at the White RnR 10 mile race!, Nagesh ran the beautiful Vancouver Marathon, Sabrina, Greg, Dave (PR) and Laura (PR) ran the OC Half! Roseann was 2nd Place Female at the OC 5K (PR)! and a big PR at the SB Wine Half the following weekend! Judy ran the Long Beach 5K and Laura paced a friend at the SB wine half.
Next up is RYP at the Mountains2Beach Marathon in Ojai! We thought the 118th Boston Marathon was going to be special and it turned out to be an incredible event. Run Your Potential had 25 runners that went to Boston this year including 12 first timers. We ended up with 18 BQ’s and 8 PR’s !! Super proud of how everyone put in the hard training and gave their best effort on the very challenging Boston course. It felt especially satisfying to return to support Boston, to be part of the healing that was much needed. Major thank you to the BAA, volunteers and spectators !!
Run Your Potential had a strong turnout at Surf City Full and Half Marathon on Sunday! 35 runners, 17 PR’s, 2 Boston Qualifiers, many high age group placements and lots of great training for the upcoming spring races.
As one week passes our hearts go out still to the victims of the Boston Marathon Bombings. And to anyone else directly or indirectly affected by this senseless act on innocent people. Let good triumph over evil and may Boston be Strong Forever.
